"I unconsciously focused on a subject that became my primary focus over the years and, in contrast, made this project deeply personal. How our womanhood is determined through the eyes of onlookers, how our hair seems to be an issue that doesn't belong to us. It's constantly assessed, something that is open for discussion. Hair comes with maturity and connects us to something deep within, something more primal - it's just waiting to grow."
